The Association of Professional Flight Attendants said its board of directors unanimously approved a vote of no confidence in American Airlines CEO Robert Isom, marking the first time the union has taken such action against a CEO at the carrier.

  • The APFA said the vote reflects deep frustration with deteriorating financial performance and operational failures.
  • "We're tired of hearing the excuses, we're tired of hearing the promises, it's time to see change here, and that change needs to start at the top," said the union president.
  • The Allied Pilots Association has also been critical of Isom, who said he would meet with the union to discuss their concerns.

Wyndham CEO Geoff Ballotti said in an interview with Skift that the company is expanding in the economy segment, despite the sector posting more than 18 straight months of revenue declines.

  • "Economy has been a real concern for brands, owners, and management companies alike," Ballotti said.
  • But Wyndham grew its economy room count by 4% on a gross basis through the third quarter — the fastest pace in recent years.
  • Ballotti said the economy and midscale segments proved to be relatively resilient during past economic downturns.

MGM Resorts now powers 100% of the daytime electricity used across its Las Vegas Strip properties with solar energy.

  • MGM didn't pay upfront to build the solar arrays, instead committing to buy the power that developers it worked with would produce.
  • Las Vegas offers one of the most favorable environments in the U.S. for large-scale solar generation.
  • MGM said its solar investments have put it about two-thirds of the way toward its 2030 goal of 100% renewable electricity in the U.S.
